In the wake of the destruction caused by the wildfires in East Tennessee, Sitel Group has donated $5,000 to the My People Fund, a nonprofit through the Dollywood Foundation, which will help families directly affected by this tragedy.

“Our hearts are heavy for everyone affected by these horrific wildfires,” said Stephanie Lief, Human Resource Business Partner North America and North American Corporate Social Responsibility Lead. “When Sitel’s Charitable Giving Committee and North American leadership heard about the devastation in East Tennessee, it was no question we needed to support this region in which we do business. The way our associates have come together to support each other is exemplary of our People-First values and culture at Sitel.”

Even though Sitel’s Tennessee sites in Knoxville, Oak Ridge, and Nashville have not been structurally affected, many Sitel Group associates are connected to the tragedy.

“This tragedy hits close to him for many of our associates who have vacationed and/or visited the affected area throughout their entire lives,” said Freeman Cooper, Site Director at Sitel Group Knoxville. “We are proud to work for a company that truly cares for their employees and the communities they live in. We will continue to collect donations for all that are in need.”

Associates from Sitel Group Knoxville and Sitel Group Oak Ridge hand delivered the check to the foundation and relayed how much Sitel Group appreciates and supports their efforts.

“Our associates, friends, and families are all devastated by the wildfires here in East Tennessee,” said Kelin Mock, Site Director of Sitel Group Oak Ridge. “With that said, many of our employees have stepped up to provide donations and volunteer to help impacted individuals get back on their feet. It makes me extremely proud to see our company respond and provide this donation. I know it will go a long way in helping with the recovery efforts!”

In late November last year, wildfires ripped through East Tennessee and destroyed homes, hotels and forced thousands to evacuate the Gatlinburg area and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

As a result, Sitel Group showed dedication to its People-First culture and the support of the regions in which we do business. The company gave the available allocated amount of the Charitable Giving Fund for November 2016 to the current efforts in Tennessee.
