Sitel Philippines Corporation, a leading business process outsourcing (BPO) call center provider, has been named Outstanding Employer of 2010 in the Large Enterprise category, by the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA).
The award was given last April 8, 2010 during the 15th Year Anniversary and Investors’ Recognition Night at the World Trade Center, Sen. Gil J. Puyat Avenue, Pasay City. Sitel Philippines Vice President Operations Michael Dela Peña received the award from His Excellency Vice President Noli de Castro and PEZA Director General Lilia B. De Lima. Sitel Philippines was also given the same honor as the “Outstanding Employer” in 2009 and 2005.
Michael Dela Peña, upon receipt of the award said “While this is such a great honor for Sitel Philippines, this award also poses a challenge for the whole organization: to deliver only the best for our talented and hardworking Sitel Philippines associates.” “It also strengthens our resolve aspire for further excellence in employee welfare, hire more qualified people and develop our associates who contribute greatly, not only to Sitel, but to the Philippine BPO industry.”
The Outstanding Employer Award is given to a PEZA locator that generated the most number of jobs, held high regard for the welfare of its employees, and maintained harmony between labor and management.
Sitel Philippines also has been recently selected as finalist in top two categories of the International ICT Awards Philippines 2010 last March 26, 2010. Sitel was nominated in the BPO Company of the Year and BPO Employer of the Year categories of the International ICT Awards.
Another honor from Public Relations Society of the Philippines was received by Sitel Philippines during the 45th Anvil Awards last February 26, 2010. The first BPO to garner such recognition, Sitel Philippines has won this year’s Anvil Award of Merit for its program “Continuity in the Face of Disaster,” a documentation of public relations, internal communications and overall people management that Sitel implemented to maintain its operations and client businesses during the Ondoy and Pepeng disasters.
The awards and nominations that Sitel Philippines received this year has affirmed Sitel Philippines’ position in the local BPO landscape as one of the best and among the few that constantly deliver excellence in the industry.
