BELGRADE, SERBIA – 29 November 2011 - Sitel, a leading customer care outsourcing provider, has now officially opened its new European contact centre - Sitel Belgrade. The Belgrade contact centre proudly played host to Serbian President Boris Tadić, who spoke at the VIP launch event on 22 November. Mary Warlick, US ambassador Serbia, also took the podium at the event to speak about the global opportunities Sitel’s investment in the country would bring. Sitel’s facility is the first non-domestic CRM outsourcer to open up a site in Serbia.
At the launch event, Bert Quintana, President and CEO of Sitel led dozens of executives from leading businesses across the globe on a tour of the state-of-the-art centre. The site is already occupied by an international beauty retailer that is tapping into Serbia’s well-educated and multilingual workforce to consolidate customer care for several European markets, including Germany, France, Spain, Italy, The Netherlands and Denmark, all within the Belgrade facility.
The opening of our facility in Belgrade was a great success and we were extremely proud to celebrate this occasion with President Tadić and Ambassador Warlick,” said Tim Schuh, General Manager, Northern EMEA, Sitel. “The launch event allowed business leaders from around the world to see the new centre and gain a better understanding of the benefits of outsourcing to Serbia. Serbia offers a well-educated talent pool, a first-class contact centre infrastructure and a wide breadth of language skills that make the country a highly attractive choice for many of our clients.
”I am very excited about the opportunities that the Sitel investment will provide the Serbian workforce and economy. In this challenging economic environment, the hundreds of new jobs that Sitel will bring to Serbia are truly a testament to the opportunity that this globally respected US firm sees here in Serbia,” said Mary Warlick, US ambassador Serbia. “I’m confident that Sitel’s new investment here in Belgrade will be one of the finest examples of US-Serbia commercial cooperation and serve as a focal point for what I hope will be many more new investments in the months and years to come.”
